Can I bring my pets?

  • Pets shall be confined so as to not become a nuisance
  • Pets must be kept on a leash when not on owner property
  • Pets must be attended and under control off your property and may  not run free
  • Members and visitors must provide proof, for each pet, of current  records
  • Owners are required to clean up after their pets

When are quiet hours? 12 midnight-8 am

  • During these times the running of exposed motors will be prohibited including: generators, chain saws, motorcycles, mopeds, golf carts, lawn mowers, etc.
  • Golf carts, motorcycles and automobiles are permitted if maintained with proper lighting and muffler systems and have an adult operator
  • No loud music, shouting, ect, will be permitted on member lots or in common areas
  • No loud or boisterous parties
  • Excessive dog barking

What are the rules regarding camp fires?

  • Fires must be contained in a fire ring
  • Fires are to be no closer than 15 feet of a structure
  • You may not burn garbage, trash, rubber (NO TIRES), plastic, leather or petroleum based materials, flammable or combustible liquids
  • Fires must be attended at all times with a fire extinguisher or water hose available
  • Fire flames shall be no more than 5 feet high
  • Security, Safety Committee or ECC may  order a fire extinguished which they have deemed a hazzard
  • Burning leaves, brush or other such items is prohibided on any roadways 
  • The proper government entity (EPA, fire department, police, etc.) will be called if there is unlawful burning

What signs can I post on my lot(s)?

  • Derogatory or offensive signs are not permitted  
  • Signs that include owner's name are to be no larger than 12x18 inches
  • For fire and EMS, all lots must have a lot number sign, in 3-4 inch reflective numbers, posted no further than 10 feet from road
  • For sale signs are permitted but may not be any larger than 16x14 Inches
  • Only one realtor sign per lot

Where can I hang my election signs at Hidden Lakes?

Hidden Lakes has the right to remove or order removed any sign found to violate any of the rules below:

  • No signs are to be posted on HL property, utility poles or electric meter pedestals
  • Campaign signs are permitted on property owner lots only
  • Campaign signs are not permitted on common areas, HL owned lots or any election committee member lot
  • Candidates are responsible for the removal of signs within 48-hours after the election 

What vehicles are not permitted at Hidden Lakes? 10 MPH maximun speed allowed.

All vehicles operated within the Hidden Lakes properties must abide by the laws of the State of Ohio and the Rules and Regulations of HLCA. Caution is expected at all times. Please be alert to children walking and playing in and around roadways and parking areas.

  • Vicheles with no muffler or that are excessively loud
  • Vehicles after dark without proper lighting
  • Vehicles with no brakes
  • Mini bikes, pocket bikes, pit bikes, mini choppers, and mini quads are band because they are less than 25 inches off the ground
  • Unsafe bikes
  • Vehicles carrying more passengers than seating allows
  • Riding on outside of any vehicle
  • Driving or parking on common areas is not permitted except for specifically authorized activities or events.
  • Vehicles bearing a handicap sticker may be driven to the bank of Mastodon Lake for fishing only
  • All vehicles not required to register by the State of Ohio must display the HLCA permit and the fee paid annually. This includes golf carts and watercraft. Bicycles must have a permit but there is no charge. Permits can be purchased in the HL office.

What is the swimming pool common ground?

This is the area outside of the swimming pool fence to the clubhouse. The following rules apply:

  • No consuming or possession of alcoholic beverages
  • No illegal drugs possessed or consumed
  • No smoking
  • No loitering
  • No pets permitted
  • No glass containers
  • No profanity
  • No combative or aggressive conduct

What is considered the swimming pool area?

The area inside the fence surrounding the pool including the concrete.  For a complete list of rules, see the sign posted by pool.

  • If there is no lifeguard, swimming is prohibited
  • Food and beverages are not permitted in pool area
  • Running and horseplay not permitted
  • Proper swim wear is required including swim diaper when needed
  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • No person under the influence of alcohol and/or illegal drugs will be permitted in the pool area

What are the rules for sewage and drains at Hidden Lakes?

  • All vehicles must have RV type holding tanks
  • All holding tanks must be secure that proper disposal procedures can be done
  • All units with attached holding tanks must use approved chemicals in holding tanks
  • Any person camping at HL without holding tank capabilities must use the facilities provided by HL for the disposal of all waste, both liquid and solid
  • All sewage, solid waste, liquid waste and trash must be disposed of as frequently as may be required by the State of Ohio, Morrow County Health Department or the Association at dumping or trash station provided
  • Intentional dumping of raw sewage upon ground is prohibited
  • The water at the dump station is not potable water and removing water from the dump station riser in any container for use will result in a fine
  • All member lots must have a gray barrel

Who can visit the youth center?

The youth center is designed to provide constructive activity for our youth but is not a free babysitting service.

What improvements require a plot plan?

When making changes to your lot(s), you are required by Hidden Lakes to file a plot plan with the office. A board member will review the plan and approve or disapprove all or part of the request. Failure to file a plot plan could result in you having to remove your improvement. Additional information can be found in the rules and regulations.
